The Classification of Clouds is a radio essay commissioned by and first broadcast by ABC Radio National in 2016 before also being aired by WFMU in 2018. It is available for listening here. The commissioning editor was Miyuki Jokiranta. Interviewees in order of appearance are – Annette Caines, Bettina Frankham, David Haines, Joyce Hinterding and Claire Pettigrew. The video adaptation of the essay was first exhibited in Contemplazioni/Contemplations at Palazzo Lucarini Trevi, Italy in 2015.
Cloud background plates are from the creative commons Landsat archive taken from above the Blue Mountains, Australia during mid-late 2015. All other voice, text, image, sound and music was written, shot and composed by Chris Caines.
